AGELLI Agelli stands on a wide wooded area that was planted more than a century ago by the Massimi family who came from the village. In the past this village had been chosen to house the town hall; today there are still some houses with very old architraves and other equally interesting architectural elements, such as the little triangular wooden terraces that close the corners of the houses.
Church of San Giovanni EvangelistaThe Church of San Giovanni Evangelista dates back to XVII century and was previously dedicated to Our Lady of the Angels. It has pleasing architectonic harmonies, above all in its composition and choice of materials used. The floor plan is rectangular and the church has a bell tower and a lunette on the facade; it shows an elegant dignity due to the contrast in tonality between the sandstone and the white travertine, most visible at the corners of the building with a particular layout of the scarfed transversal connections. The pitch of each span is emphasised on the external side facings by the presence of rounded arch windows. Inside the church there is an interesting canvas dedicated to San Giovanni Evangelista.
