AT THE QUEEN'S COURT Costumed historical enactment and banquet that is held every year in Arquata. The banquet is inspired by the historical figure of Queen Joanna II of Naples, called Giovannetta who stayed in the famous Rocca from 1420 to 1435. During the banquet the square hosts performers who amuse the diners with dances, music and games during their libations. The dishes are reconstructed on the precepts of medieval cuisine. Giovanna II of Angiò (born Zara, 25th June 1373 – died Naples, 2nd February 1435)was Queen of Naples from 1414 until her death. She was also the titular queen of Jerusalem, Sicily and Hungary. |
