La Terra delle Meraviglie, the Association of Tourist Operators of the Comunità Montana del Tronto, was founded 19 May 2003. Today it groups 36 different receptive structures  (Farm Holidays, Hotel, Bed &Breakfast, Country House, Hostels, Residences, Shelters, Villages...), situated in 8 municipalities of the Province of Ascoli Piceno in the Marche Region.

The Association aims:

• to promote tourism for the economic and occupational development of the territory in a national and European context;
• to develop and promote the tourist image of the territory on the domestic and international markets;
• to support and promote the operating enterprises in the tourist sector with the aim of improving the quality of the organization, the structures and the services offered;
• to favor the cultural and professional development of the people involved by having them attend training courses;
• to increase the competitiveness of the tourist system in the organization of the offer, also in order to promote the re-balancing of the territory, to make the most of the environmental resources, safe guard the cultural assets and the local traditions;
• to promote local quality products, to make them better-known and to raise their qualification both at home and abroad including the processes to have them acknowledged as D.O.P., D.O.C.G. and I.G.T.;
• to value the role of local communities in expressing their various cultural and associative links;
• to promote the research, the study, the documentation and the knowledge of the tourist phenomenon so that enterprises con be better positioned on the market;
• to promote and to value typical handicraft both artistic and traditional;
• to promote the qualification of the structures and to raise the quality and the services offered to the tourist.

The Association positions itself as a service structure :

• to elaborate tourist programs and packages, for individual tourists and tourist groups;
• to put together stays, mostly in low and mid season, as well as stargazing package tours, weekend away, eno-gastronomic tours of the typical food and wine producers of the area and characteristic tours of places of refreshment;
• to take part in fairs, in Italy, Europe and abroad with agricultural and food products, hand made products of the territory;
• to implement professional training courses for tourist operators, marketing and company courses.

Our territory is characterized by scenes that are indeed evocative from the cultural, naturalistic and historical point of view. There are present, in fact, two unique territorial areas, the National Park Monti Sibillini and the National Park of Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga, that allow you to walk and do sport in total relaxation.

A land where history and legend are fused, telling of places wrapped in an aura of mystery, like the Lago di Pilato and the Grotta della Sibilla; and where nature presents beautiful landscapes, like the Piano di Castelluccio, in the vicinity of the village of the same name, famous for its good “Lenticchie di Castelluccio”.

Ascoli Piceno is a medieval city, called “the city of one hundred towers”. In the centre you can visit two beautiful public squares, “Piazza del Popolo” and “Piazza Arringo”, beyond is the Civic Art Gallery and numerous Romanesque Churches.

Moreover, from the food and drink point of view, the tourist can appreciate some typical products made traditionally, an example is the nearby historical “Caffè Meletti” where you can drink the unmistakable “Anisetta” and taste the best “fried olives of Ascoli”.

But our territory also stands out  for other flavours and scents, bringing healthy local food and drink to table: Pecorino cheese, mushrooms, prized truffles, chestnuts, various preparations of pig: sausages, "Ciauscolo", “Prosciutti”, wild boar and lamb, the vegetables of the countryside, all flavored with characteristic extra virgin olive oil and generous local wines.

A "Land to discover", in the heart of the Marche Region, from which you can quickly reach some evocative places of the nearby regions, such as the “Lago di Campotosto” and the “City of Amatrice”, even taste the “Spaghetti all’amatriciana...”

You can also visit the city of Saints in the territory of Norcia, the Sanctuary of S. Rita in Cascia and the Benedictine places of worship, the Sanctuary of Loreto, the Sanctuary of S. Gabriele, the City of Assisi and so on…
