COLLEIANO

Once known by different names (Rocca Rigunile, Rocca Rigonile, Rocca Reonile, or Roccarionile). In 1817 it was a borough and with the villages of Forcella, Pastina, San Giacomo, Sassomaio, Masciù, Sala, Radicina and Lisciano numbered 280 inhabitants.  The origins of this borough are difficult to trace because of the lack of written sources; in fact, the town, together with the town archive, was destroyed by brigands around 1800. Once the turbulence was over, the few families that remained grouped together at the beginning of the 1800s at Collegano and in 1856 the borough was newly assigned to Rocca Reonile.Roccarionile probably originated with the illustrious Della Rocca family who were present in historical and social events of a certain importance in Ascoli Piceno between 1300 and 1400.

Church of SS. Pancrazio and Cristianziano

In the vicinity of the dwellings of Collegano the church of SS. Pancrazio and Cristianziano can be admired.  The year 1585 is noted on an architrave; inside roman remains are visible, in particular a Corinthian capital on which a holy water stoop is placed.
