LU FRUSTING
Ingredients: 500 g of dried figs, 500 g of dried raisins, chopped orange rind, chopped lemon rind, almonds, walnuts, various types of dried fruit, one sachet of cinnamon, an almost full packet of plain cocoa, 4 mokas (traditional Italian coffee pot) of coffee, each being enough to serve three people. Plenty of sugar (adjust to taste), one of the following liqueurs: rum, anisette, amaretto; 1 glass of olive oil, 4 handfuls of bran flour, mulled wine and enough water to cover the figs and raisins. Method: Boil the broken up figs and the raisins in the mulled wine diluted by half with water, so that it covers the fruit. When the cooking liquid has reduced quite a lot remove the fruit from the heat. Let the mixture cool and then add the peeled and toasted almonds, the chopped walnuts, the mixed dried fruit cut into small pieces, the orange and lemon rind cut into small pieces and all the other remaining ingredients. Mix well so as to amalgamate all the ingredients. Grease a baking tin with the olive oil, put in the mixture and brush a little olive oil over the surface. Decorate the “frustino” with halved walnuts and almonds. Bake in the oven.
