LU FRUSTINGHE 

It was the poor man’s sweet. Quite a lot of work was needed to prepare it and the ingredients that went to make it were numerous: dried figs, raisins, almonds, walnuts, dried fruit, white flour, oil and peach and apricot kernels that had been shelled and sweetened.  The mixture was then collected in a copper tin and baked in the oven.
