PASTINA The little town of Pastina shows the grey tonalities typical of the local sandstone; here, on some dwellings old datings are carried. Behind the new Church stands a building which still carries evident signs of the fact that it was destined for the defence and control of the territory. Oral sources indicate it as a dwelling of the Sforza dynasty. The complex volumetry denotes the changes that have been carried out over the years according to the different needs of its owners; the presences of slits for harquebuses testify to the important defensive role that the structure must have had for the people of the town. The date 1759 can be read on an architrave. Inside interesting stuccos with particular ovoid tiles that narrate episodes linked to classical mythology are still open to interpretation today.
Church of Santa AnatoliaBoth the name Anatolia and the place name Pastina seem to have Farfensian origins, because the characteristic position outside the town and its defensive functions are common to other Farfensian churches. The façade is partially “fake” with a bell gable, whilst a cornice divides the facade into two zones of equal worth. Inside the Church preserved a XVII century canvas, currently kept in the Church nearest the village. Bibliography:
