ROCCA CASAREGNANA

A castle existed here that is believed to have been founded by the noble family of Ascoli the Corradi, now extinct. Many place the position of this ancient fortress in the highest part of Casebianche, where there are still hewn stones and other stones that bear witness to the presence of an ancient defensive structure. Once there was the church dedicated to SS. Quirico and Giuditta, still marked on the cadastral cartography of 1815 and then demolished after that date. An important testimony to civil architecture is the structure better known as Palazzo Pascali. The building was surely done up over the years, but presents a loggia over two tiers of arches and several architraves which carry the year 1653.
